DAVE & MEG'S 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Theirs is a Marriage made in Heaven.  With 25 years in the making, the Ethridge’s bring together a beautiful family nurtured with so much love, laughter and joy with their sons Mitch and Brian, and daughter Maddie.  And on this very special day, Dave and Meg renewed their vows witnessed by 50 of their closest family and friends.

Dave first came to me and asked what he should do to celebrate their Silver Anniversary.  At first, he thought a trip to Hawaii would be great, even Europe.  But he also wanted to do something special … he really wanted to surprise Meg.  So I asked him, “ … if you were to get married all over again, what would you do?”.  And from there, the idea blossomed.  The wheels in my head started to spin – so fast, I kept popping with ideas left and right that finally I got him convinced to go ahead and plan their celebration.  And on a Tuesday afternoon on August 16th, I gave my best friend their “Dream Wedding”.

The Ceremony took place in the gorgeous serenity of Montara Beach by the San Mateo Coast near Half Moon Bay.  As we walked down to the coarse sandy beach, you’re caught by the sea-kissed ocean air, as you listen to the waves crashing, enveloped with the majestic mountains and hills.  What a spectacular view it was, and the perfect place for a Wedding.

I had everyone gathered to shape like a “heart” while we all anxiously awaited for their arrival.  And when they did, Dave and Meg made their way down to the beach to join us.  You could see the surprise on Meg’s face, and the look of excitement (and relief) in Dave’s.  They were greeted with a guitar serenade, and were embraced with the warmth of all who were there, as they exchanged their vows again, then sealed with a kiss.

The party was just beginning.  So right after, we all drove to the Moss Beach Distillery where a stunning room set with a tablescape theme of Land, Sea and Sky graced a dining room that commanded a view of the magnificent seaside.  The dinner was delectable.  The “His and Hers” cakes were delightful.  And another surprise came when Dave got down on his knees to present Meg with her gift … diamond earrings!  After dinner, we invited everyone to join them in the outside terrace, for their “first dance” (which they never had at their original wedding).  It was a perfect evening – an inviting firepit, the spray of the ocean’s mist and the glow of a full moon.

So wonderful to see two incredible people who have found love that is as strong today as it was then, and sharing it again to those who love them the most.  Here’s to many more years of creating precious memories together and a marriage that defines forever.

May you live as long as you love, and love as long as you live!

Congratulations, Dave and Meg … we love you guys!

And my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped me with their fabulous day.  And special thanks to Nancy Nerhan for her most amazing and gracious hospitality – the Oceano Resort will always be home to us whenever we come back to Half Moon Bay … and we will be back!

Wow Duncan, this is super super nice. What an incredible day!
It was so magical to watch my amazing Meg get all caught up in the whole day, especially the moment when she saw everyone on the beach and knew her whole evening was about to change.
I didn't event have to think of where and when I had to be somewhere, you did it all.
Vendor management, timing of moments for the perfect night I envisioned for my bride of 25 years.
Your the best at it all!
David and Meg
