" . . . We met in the basement kitchen of the Cosmo hotel back in December 2005. It was a party either one of us could have easily skipped. Had we done so, we would have never met. Maggie was just here for school and neither of us knew where this may lead. But we enjoyed each other's company and cared for each other. There was no reason to ignore that or pretend it wasn't true. Over the next 5 years our relationship grew and matured. We spent just as much time apart as together, which helped us realize how important the other person was. And while absence makes the heart grow fonder, we're tired of being apart. We're tired of calculating timezones when we talk on the phone. And so we're taking the next step forward. Towards marriage and life together. So we won't have to be apart so much anymore. "
