He began as a Corporate Event Planner until his tenure as Catering Manager for luxury San Francisco hotels, as well as the General Manager/Director of Events for the Julia Morgan Ballroom. Later became the Catering Manager for Weddings at the historic Westin St. Francis Hotel. Impressive accolades have given him credentials to recognize him as an Independent Food Editor, Restaurant Critic and a Contributing Writer for several media publications. Spanning impressive years in Wedding and Event Planning, his passion has taken him to create F. DUNCAN REYES EVENTS BY DESIGN and is renowned as the Event Industry’s most premiere Wedding and Event Planner Extraordinnaire! In January 2009, he was honored by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the Top 100 new businesses in their “Book Of Lists 2009”. Duncan is a member of the National Assoc. of Catered Events (NACE) and last April 2010 was voted “Member of the Year” 2010 and the 2013 Winner of Silicon Valley NACE's coveted Best of the Industry Award in Event Design. In January 2011, 2012 and 2013, received prestigious recognition with the WeddingWire Bride's Choice Award for Wedding Planning.


" 5 stars all around for Duncan, who lived up to his legendary reputation. Duncan was actually the first vendor we hired. My husband had experienced Duncan's talent at his older brother's wedding and kept saying how smooth everything was. We were lucky that Duncan was available on our date and hired him without hesitation.  Starting the month before the wedding, Duncan was the main point of contact for every vendor we had hired. A wedding is such a production with so many people involved, so it was super helpful to have a coordinator handle major communications and follow up. Duncan came up with a detailed, 6-page timeline and ensured everyone knew where they needed to be at all times. He has great ideas and is always accessible, quick to respond, and detail-oriented.  One example that impressed me was how Duncan caught an error on my seating chart. To organize our guests, we had three different spreadsheets in Google Docs. One spreadsheet indicated everyone's entree selections. Another spreadsheet listed everyone by table. A third spreadsheet organized everyone alphabetically. Without my asking, Duncan cross-referenced the three spreadsheets and asked me if one guest was still coming, because her name with missing from the alphabetical order spreadsheet. Good thing Duncan caught that, because I was using the alphabetical order spreadsheet to lay out my seating chart! His timing couldn't have been better because he caught the error before I printed the chart.  Whenever anyone asks me how my wedding went, I tell them it was everything I hoped it would be and more. The day really was about as perfect as it could have been! I give a huge chunk of the credit to Duncan for making sure everything went off without a hitch. A relaxed bride is a happy bride. I absolutely recommend Duncan as someone you can trust to make your day happen. Hire him so that you can kick back and enjoy every moment! "

I had the pleasure of coordinating HEIDI and DAVE’s wedding last August at the beautiful Golf Club at Boulder Ridge in San Jose. I really didn’t get involved in the coordination of the wedding until about just over 3 weeks prior. And even while we communicated via phone, e-mail and text, the planning process was seemless.  Having known Heidi and Dave in a very short time, it felt like we’ve known each other for a very long time.  This is what I like so much about the two of them – easygoing, friendly, humble, sweet, loving and fun!  And when we finally first met at their Ceremony Rehearsal, I knew they were going to be amazing clients.  And that they were, as were their incredible parents, Dr. and Mrs. Richard and Deane Giuffrida, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Lee Weber, both of whom welcomed me like Family.  I’ve always said “ . . . show me who your friends are, and I’ll show you who you are “ – and clearly, they have become my newfound Friends … and Family!

It was a picture-perfect day, replete with sunny and blue skies, followed by a romantic sunset, then a full moon to end their magical evening.  The room was full of love and great energy – what a wonderful way to start a fabulous new life together. 

Congratulations, Heidi and Dave – here’s wishing you all good things life has to offer, and that the love you share today and the blessings sent your way will follow you throughout your years together.
