He began as a Corporate Event Planner until his tenure as Catering Manager for luxury San Francisco hotels, as well as the General Manager/Director of Events for the Julia Morgan Ballroom. Later became the Catering Manager for Weddings at the historic Westin St. Francis Hotel. Impressive accolades have given him credentials to recognize him as an Independent Food Editor, Restaurant Critic and a Contributing Writer for several media publications. Spanning impressive years in Wedding and Event Planning, his passion has taken him to create F. DUNCAN REYES EVENTS BY DESIGN and is renowned as the Event Industry’s most premiere Wedding and Event Planner Extraordinnaire! In January 2009, he was honored by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the Top 100 new businesses in their “Book Of Lists 2009”. Duncan is a member of the National Assoc. of Catered Events (NACE) and last April 2010 was voted “Member of the Year” 2010 and the 2013 Winner of Silicon Valley NACE's coveted Best of the Industry Award in Event Design. In January 2011, 2012 and 2013, received prestigious recognition with the WeddingWire Bride's Choice Award for Wedding Planning.


Sometimes you find love in the most unexpected places. This was the case for VANESSA and MIKE who met at a bar in 1999 in Vanessa's hometown of Toronto, Ontario Canada.  At the time Mike was beginning his second year of school at the University of Toronto for Computer Sciences, and Vanessa was working for a brokerage firm in San Francisco.  Busy with school, work, travel and living on two different coasts, they knew that their relationship would be rather challenging. Having a long distant relationship isn't for everyone, but Mike and Vanessa knew that it would take a whole lot of patience, courage and love to make it go the distance.  Eventually everything fell into place on July 10, 2008 when Vanessa packed her bags moved cross-country from Toronto to San Francisco to join Mike in California for good.  The following year on a trip to Hawaii, Mike popped the question in front of Kahuna Falls on the Big Island of Hawaii, ending a decade of dating and entering engagement bliss together at last!  And on July 10, 2010 at The General's Residence (formerly 1 Fort Mason), Mike and Vanessa joyfully tied the knot in an intimate ceremony surrounded by friends and family. They currently live in San Francisco and look forward to many decades of happiness to come!
